The Dugout
The Dugout is a mobile app that assists travel baseball coaches to focus on player development.
SKETCHING
I wanted to explore user flows to navigate through the app, so I created a prototype in Sketch and Invision to test the movement between screens.
These sketches show the early iterations of how the user will interact within the app.
I start with low fidelity sketches to iron out design options quickly before heading into my design app of choice.
The goal of the sketches were to create the flow for a coach scheduling a practice for their respective team.
WIREFRAMES
SKETCH + INDESIGN
I chose to keep the visual design greyscale to keep the focus on the usability of the app. The user flow shown here is takes the user through the onboarding or logging in to an existing account. While this turned out to be a successful initial flow, I would have liked to add more screens and conduct further testing.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I plan to come back to this in the near future as I’ve spoken to more target users who have a need for a solution like this. I would like to have a few more interviews with them to find out if there are more features that could be added to the solution.
If you would like to see the final case study, you can see it here.
